Dear Holy Trinity community,
As pastor of Holy Trinity Catholic Church, I feel it is important always to keep you informed as we work together to provide our children with the best Catholic education possible.
Today, I am writing to update you on our Holy Trinity School Principal position. As you know, Charlie Hennessy announced March 27 that he would like to continue in administration but transition out of the principal role at the school. I am exceedingly grateful for his six years of leadership and how the school has developed under his tutelage.
After consulting with the Catholic Schools Office (CSO), the principal position at our school was advertised in early April. We received several outstanding applications from candidates, including one from our current assistant principal, Kevin McShane. A search committee, along with the CSO, reviewed applications and interviewed the candidates. The committee narrowed down the candidates for selection interviews with Superintendent Bill Ryan and me, which took place last week.
Our interview with Kevin McShane emphatically confirmed that he is the most qualified person to be both the spiritual and instructional leader for our school, and I am very pleased to announce that he has accepted the position as the next principal of Holy Trinity School. He will begin his new role July 1, 2018.
Mr. McShane has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics from Harvard University and a Master’s degree in Independent School Leadership from the University of Pennsylvania. Before coming to Holy Trinity, he was a teacher and coach at St. Alban’s School in Washington, DC. Mr. McShane and his family are also longtime parishioners of Holy Trinity.
Please join me in congratulating Mr. McShane on his new position. Along with Kerri Edwards, assistant principal of the lower school, and Charlie Hennessy, who will become the assistant principal of the upper school, I have every confidence and expectation that our school community will continue to advance under his leadership. Your ongoing support of Holy Trinity School, and for Mr. McShane, Mrs. Edwards and Mr. Hennessy, will be fundamental to fulfilling our mission to our children and our parish.
Rev. C. Kevin Gillespie, S.J.
