Update on Masses (as of July 5)

Further changes and additions to Mass times have begun.

After consultation with the Parish Pastoral Council, masks are required for all individuals at indoor liturgies regardless of vaccination status. Masks are only required for the distribution of Holy Communion at Holy Rood Masses.

  • As of Monday, July 5, daily Masses will be celebrated at 8:15am and 5:30pm in the Chapel of St Ignatius. There will be an 8:15am Mass on Saturday morning.
  • As of Sunday, July 11, 7:30am Mass will restart and the Noon Mass will return to 11:30am.
  • Reconciliation will be celebrated at 4:30pm in the Chapel of St Ignatius.

If your health concerns prevent you from participating in-person, consider watching the livestream of our 9am Sunday Mass. The Mass will also be available to watch anytime after 9am on Facebook or our homepage if you do not catch the livestream.

Notes about Masses at Holy Rood:

Mass will take place outdoors at Holy Trinity Columbarium. To arrive at Mass, participants must walk up a steep, paved path and then down a grassy slope. The seating area is a grassy lawn which is slightly sloped and interspersed with tombstones. Please do not sit on or lean against the tombstones. Participants should bring their own blankets or sturdy chairs to sit on during the liturgy. Participants should wear supportive shoes (e.g., sneakers) and consider layers of clothing or blankets, sunscreen, and hats according to the weather forecast. Participants are asked to consider the physical abilities of all members of their group. There is no parking lot at Holy Rood and the distance from the street to the columbarium is significant for people with mobility issues. There is street parking on Wisconsin Avenue, 35th Street, and in the surrounding neighborhood.

Mass will be celebrated rain or shine.
