Concerts at Holy Trinity presents: Chamber Music Concert with Jane Vourlekis: “Woven Melodies”

Continuing our chamber music series, please join us for a free concert being co-hosted by Holy Trinity’s Young Adult Community in the St. Ignatius Chapel at Holy Trinity on Saturday, September 12th. This concert will feature violist Jane Vourlekis, graduate of Oberlin Conservatory and Eastman School of Music, who is active in the music ministry at Holy Trinity. Joining her will be fellow musicians Eleanor Shen and Evelyn Song on violin, and oboist Briana Lim.

This concert titled “Woven Melodies” will showcase works by Hans Gál and Bohuslav Martinu, both composers who were forced to flee N*zi persecution during the Second World War. The concert will include Martinu’s Madrigals for Violin and Viola as well as Hans Gál’s Trio for Oboe, Violin, and Viola. Also included in the program will be Jean-Marie Leclair’s Violin Duo in E minor, Reinhold Gliére’s Duos for Two Violins, and selections from Benjamin Britten’s Six Metamorphoses after Ovid for solo oboe. An informal reception will be held following the concert.
