Celebrate Economic Justice for All at 40

Sunday, November 15 | 10:15 AM, Trinity Hall

On the 10th annual World Day of the Poor, all are invited to join a conversation to celebrate the 40th anniversary of Economic Justice for All, a landmark social teaching document from the Catholic Bishops of the United States. Comments will be offered by David Hollenbach, S.J. of Georgetown University, who served as a consultant in the drafting of the document.

We will also be joined by Georgetown’s Dr. Joseph McCartin, Founding Director of the Kalmanovitz Initiative for Labor & the Working Poor. Pope Leo recently taught that “Dignified work is not merely about productivity, but also participation in God’s creation. A just economy is not judged on profit alone, but on inclusive growth and protection for the most vulnerable.” (Magnifica Humanitas, No. 158).  Join us to reflect on the role that U.S. Catholics have played in the church’s developing teaching on economic life, and how this teaching is calling to us today.  Questions?
