Thirst for Living Water: The Cry of the Earth, The Courage of Its Defenders, and Forced Displacement in Central America
Sunday, September 27 | 10:15 AM, Trinity Hall
Join Dr. Elizabeth Ferris, Institute for the Study of International Migration at Georgetown University, and other presenters to learn about realities faced by environmental defenders in Central America. This presentation will explore the human face of the climate disaster and environmental destruction that force families from their land and homes. By striving to listen to “cry of the earth and cry of the poor” in the light of Laudato Si’, this conversation will connect our thirst for “living water,” the theme of this year’s Season of Creation, to the dignity of migrants and our call to welcome the stranger.
