8th Grade Confirmation Preparation Program
8th Grade Confirmation Preparation Program (for those seeking Confirmation in 2020 and beyond)
Confirmation is a two-year journey of preparation, and this is the second year of that journey. There are several parts to this year, each offering preparation for a greater understanding of Christian discipleship.
There are four components of the preparation program.
Faith Formation Component
All candidates for Confirmation should regularly attend Sunday-morning religious-education classes or attend a Catholic school.
Liturgical Component
All candidates for Confirmation should regularly attend and participate in Sunday Mass.
Preparation Program Component
All candidates for Confirmation must complete these outside activities:
- Attend all Confirmation preparation sessions
- Attend the off-site retreat
- Interview a parent
- Engage in a one-to-one conversation with a Confirmation team leader
Candidates are expected to make the time to attend all activities and complete all activities.
Service Component
All candidates for Confirmation must choose a service opportunity and participate regularly in that activity over the course of the 2019-2020 year.

Celebrating the Sacrament
Confirmation celebrations are held in the spring, but the date(s) are contingent upon the bishop’s schedule. Once we receive the dates, we will prepare a SignUp Genius so that you can choose which date you would like. There will be limited spaces at each celebration, so you are encouraged to choose your date as early as possible. If you have not selected a date by the deadline, we will assign your date based on availability. We will send you complete information about what to expect before your celebration.
