Holy Trinity School DRAFT

Founded in 1818, Holy Trinity School (HTS) is one of the few coeducational elementary schools in the Jesuit tradition in the United States. HTS welcomes all to the Jesuit Catholic traditions of educational excellence, the service of faith, and the promotion of justice. Your support allows us to serve more than 300 racially, ethnically and socio-economically diverse children in pre-kindergarten through eighth grade. Around $675,000 in need-based tuition assistance is distributed annually. Holy Trinity was one of 50 private schools in the country to be awarded the National Blue Ribbon for Excellence by the Department of Education in 2016, and it has been named a Top Workplace by the Washington Post in 2017 and 2018. With your help we strive to achieve three main goals for our students and families: 1) integrate Catholic faith traditions and Jesuit identity into curriculum and activities that promote student understanding and provide opportunities to put faith into action; 2) provide instruction and resources that foster individual student growth and overall achievement; and 3) nurture a welcoming and dynamic community that includes diverse perspectives and experiences. We believe discernment aligns our decisions with our values: Courage, Humility, Compassion, Justice, Gratitude and Perseverance.

HTS Annual Fund

Your contribution to our Annual Fund enables us to continue to provide our students with a faith-based education steeped in academic excellence. The unrestricted support enhances our current use, operational budget to ensure every student has the best possible experience at Holy Trinity School and provides the platform for them to excel.

Gavigan Program

The Gavigan Program, a current use scholarship fund, provides an education at Holy Trinity School for low-income family students who have academic motivation and potential for personal growth. This scholarship program provides, in addition to full tuition assistance, support services including tutoring, mentoring, summer school, after-school tutoring/homework assistance, and other services as needed that will help the children succeed at Holy Trinity.

Eight Grade Class gift

The Class Gift is a Holy Trinity School tradition since 1995, given to the school by the families of the graduating class. A parent committee works with the principal and teachers to determine a gift that would be the most beneficial to the school.

The 1792 Society

Commemorating the year when Holy Trinity's current historic chapel (St. Ignatius') was established, The 1792 Society recognizes donors who have named Holy Trinity parish and/or school in their wills or estate plans. Legacy Gifts (or "planned gifts") may be established at any time; common gifts include establishing a bequest in one's will, or designating Holy Trinity as a fund/policy beneficiary. If you are interested in establishing a Legacy Gift, or if you have already made such arrangements, please contact Rock Schuler, Director of Stewardship, at RSchuler@trinity.org or 202-903-2843. Legacy gift donors are invited to an annual appreciation Mass and luncheon with the pastor in thanksgiving for their intention to ensure the perpetuation of their values and our Christian mission.
