Virtual Holiday Giving

Thanksgiving Drive

Our goal is to provide meals for Fr. McKenna Center, Hope and a Home and Migrant Families. $60 purchases a Thanksgiving meal for a family of 4 that includes:

• Frozen turkey
• 1 16 oz. box instant mashed potatoes
• 2 6 oz. packages stuffing mix 
• 1 large can yams/sweet potatoes
• 2 16 oz. cans green beans
• 2 16 oz. cans corn
• 1 can cranberry sauce
• makings for a cake or pie for dessert
• 1 reusable shopping bag

You may make a cash donation through our online site or mail a check to Holy Trinity, Attn: Social Justice, with “Thanksgiving Food Drive” in the memo.

We are working to fulfill the wish lists of the following organizations: Casa Chirilagua, Christ House, Fr. McKenna Center, Georgetown Ministry Center, Hope and a Home, Mary House, Northwest Center, Sister Parish St. Jean Baptiste, Spanish Catholic Center, and St. Ann’s Center for Children, Youth and Families. 

Please select an organization and follow the instructions for giving included on the sign-up genius or wish list. If you would prefer to make a cash donation to our “North Pole,” you may do so through our online site or by mailing a check to Holy Trinity, Attn: Ashley Klick, with “Giving Tree” in the memo. These funds will be used to purchase gift cards for teens and adults and to fulfill any outstanding wish list items.

Casa Chirilagua

Casa Chirilagua develops relationships with families to see the Chirilagua neighborhood transformed by Christ. They provide educational support and foster spiritual, character and leadership development for under-served students in the Chirilagua neighborhood of Alexandria, VA, primarily through after school programming and one-on-one mentoring relationships. Holy Trinity will provide gifts for 10 families (35 individuals). Christ House

The mission of Christ House is to provide comprehensive and compassionate health care to sick, homeless persons in the District of Columbia, and to assist them in addressing critical issues to help break the cycle of homelessness. 

Fr. McKenna Center

The Father McKenna Center is an independent 501(c)3 in the Ignatian Catholic tradition, steps from the US Capitol in Washington, DC. They serve men struggling with homelessness and families in Ward 6 dealing with food insecurity. Items on the Giving Tree list are for children of families in Ward 6. Sign Up

Hope and a Home

Hope and a Home’s mission is to empower low-income families with children in D.C. to create stable homes of their own and to make lasting changes in their lives. Items on the Giving Tree list are for members of the 27 families (children/teenagers/adults) they currently serve.

Mary House

Mary House is a community-based transitional organization that provides housing and support services to low-income immigrant and refugee families. Please sign up to purchase gifts. They may be dropped off at the church or shipped.

Northwest Center

The Northwest Center seeks to promote the dignity of women and a respect for all human life. They seek to accomplish this goal by offering the loving support and comprehensive aid necessary to enable all women to continue their pregnancies, deliver healthy babies, and adequately care for themselves and their children. 

Sister Parish St. Jean Baptiste

Haiti has suffered widespread destruction from a series of disasters--a devastating 7.2-magnitude earthquake in August 2021, Hurricane Matthew in 2016, and a catastrophic earthquake in 2010. These calamities have severely impacted our sister parish in Anse d’Hainault, on Haiti’s rural southwestern coast. Holy Trinity has been making a difference in the lives of Anse d'Hainault's children so that they can lead purposeful and faith-filled lives. We have been integral to rebuilding the parish school, sponsoring students pursuing post-secondary studies, creating a library, providing a solar electrical system and a computer lab for the school, installing two wells, and creating an agricultural mill. Please help Holy Trinity's St. Jean Baptiste Committee by participating in its Giving Tree toy drive for children.

Spanish Catholic Center

For more than 50 years, the Spanish Catholic Center has been offering medical and dental clinics, job training programs, English classes, a food pantry and case management services in four locations. The Spanish Catholic Center offers holistic services to immigrants from around the world. The multicultural staff of the Center speak more than eight different languages and have experience working with individuals from more than 72 different cultural contexts.

We are grateful to the Holy Trinity School families who have committed to partnering with this organization.

St. Ann’s Center for Children, Youth and Families

St. Ann’s Center for Children, Youth and Families strengthens and supports families on their journey toward stability.  Inspired by Catholic social teaching and Gospel values, St. Ann’s Center provides a nurturing community where families heal from the past, overcome barriers, and take hold of their future. Items on the Giving Tree are gifts for newborns, toddlers and mothers. Gift cards for the mothers may be purchased through monetary donations and gifts for children are available on the wish list.
